Rustic Environment, Davis Mountains surround us and are spotted with boulders, cacti, scrub brush and more.
Very, very windy! Many gusts shake the RV and whistle all around.
Lovely sunsets and twinkling lights in the night sky.
Interesting landforms within a 55 mile radius.
Food tastes especially delicious, my family complements each dinner. (Is it all the hiking and fresh air?)
Enjoying the change in routine and the adventure we’ve embarked on.
I do not claim to be a poet, but I have asked the kids to try their hand at poetry and so decided I should try as well. =)
We’ve been here at Tin Valley Retro Camp since Monday afternoon and I am so very thankful for this beautiful place to call “home” for 2 weeks. I love our site, it has a fence so Lyla has freedom, we back up to some mountains for easy hiking access and I know Tomas and Gabriella have shared all about “downtown”, the center of the camp with animals, a warm bathroom and WiFi.
Doing school on the road is going well, it is a bit more relaxed than at home and due to may other “road trips” it hasn’t been a hard transition on this trip.
Our biggest trial thus far has been our fresh water system. We paid to have it inspected and repaired and were told it was, however, we aren’t certain it is. When we put water in, some leaked out. (Sigh.) Thankfully there is plenty of fresh water "downtown", so we fill up our gallon jugs each day for doing dishes. I’m also glad I thought to bring along two 5-gallon buckets. We are hopeful that when we empty our tanks early next week, we can trouble shoot the water system and get it to work. Please pray for patience in the process and practical insight.
I hope you are all well. While I miss our regular interactions with all of you, I am enjoying the rest of this season, the peacefulness of this place and the warmer weather. (For those of you in IL, it sounds like it’s been very, very COLD!)
Love, Love, Love reading all your posts, and imagining you in your new environment. Nice job on all the poetry. I also love the description of all the cats. Sorry about the problem with your water - hope you can get that fixed! It looks pretty desolate, but great for hiking and exploring. So glad Lyla is with you!
ReplyDeleteDiane, we are so thankful to have Lyla with us as well. She enjoys lying in the sun. She also really enjoys going for walks off leash. She loves to smell all the smells and while she occasionally ends up with cactus needles in in legs and/or paws she isn't deterred. She patiently waits while I pull them out and off she goes.
DeleteI love all the updates just catching up now!!! It’s fun living through these posts. I’m quite fond of your poetry :) I’m thankfully you’re enjoying the peace it’s so beautiful and tranquil to just be in the Lords beautiful nature. Love you!!
